Romantic tour

All activities and tours are tailor-made for lovers

Day 1: Tour in Caen and fun activities

Caen is the city of Guillaume Le Conquérant, who invaded and conquered England. By walking through this Middle-Age city, you will be discovering its Norman style architectures, such as its two abbeys, its castle and its historical center.

For lunch, you will be tasting local food in a vintage and cosy place.

In the afternoon, you will have two choices. You will be able to visit Bayeux and its famous Ancient Tapestry Museum in which you will learn about an ancestral art.

Or, if you seek adrenaline, you will be able to go kayaking in a river, in the middle of green lands and lakes. In fact, this part of Normandy looks like Switzerland. After kayaking, you will go hiking nearby la Roche d’Oëtre. From there, you will enjoy a beautiful view of the green lands. If you book this option, there is an extra cost of 15€.

At the end of the day, you will eat crêpes in Cambremer. You might find your favorite crêpe. In fact, more than 40 different kinds of crêpes are suggested.  Our favorite one is “La Rouennaise” (made of leeks in cream, ham and local cheese).

Option: Kayaking in the center of Normandy

You will go kayaking down the Orne river. For 2 hours, you will go through 7km of natural landscapes and fresh air.

Day 2: Deauville and Honfleur, glamorous and authentic places

In Deauville, you will be walking along the Atlantic Ocean. In the morning, riders often start the day there with their horse. In fact, Normandy is really famous around the world for its horse training-centers. They are said to be the best of the world. Make sure you can meet some of them training along the ocean.

After lunch, you will go to Honfleur. This lovely town is the capital of Impressionism. Famous painters used to spend hours drawing the old harbour and typical ancient houses of the town. Nowadays, artists still gather and live there. Make sure you visit some art galleries and enter the Sainte-Catherine Cathedral. It might impress you.

Then, you will have dinner in a colorful place. Local fishes and seafood are very tasty there.

Option: Ethnography museum

This is a great museum to go back in time and to discover how Norman life used to look like before. You will also learn about professions which nowadays tend to disappear (haberdasher, weaver, bourgeois designer…).

Day 3: Etretat cliffs and modern architecture in Le Havre

You will cross the Pont de Normandie, which is a cable-stayed road bridge that spans the Seine river. The technical prowess of the bridge is amazing to see and cross. In Etretat, you will enjoy go on trekking between cliffs and sea. You will arrive at the Antifer lighthouse and discover the little charming harbor of Ypor. If you want, you will be able to take a gourmet picnic with you.

In the afternoon, you will visit Le Havre. This year is the 500th anniversary of the city. Free exhibitions will take place during the whole summer. Do not miss the band Royal de Luxe. Their unique performances have been successful all over the world.

Le Havre architecture is a must to see. The whole city is listed as UNESCO Heritage. The city is really different from typical cities in France. In fact, Le Havre was destroyed during WWII and then rebuilt by Auguste Perret, a genius French architect.  Through its buildings and streets, you will discover modern and stunning constructions.

You will enjoy a self-serve buffet in an Indian restaurant for dinner. If you want to extend your evening, there are the best bars of the town right next to the restaurant.

Option: Gourmet picnic

Make the most of your lovely trip to Normandy and share a romantic picnic with your love. You will taste local and fresh food. This picnic is perfect if you want to spend your entire day outside and enjoy your meal in front of the ocean.

Day 4: Cider road and villages of Normandy

After your breakfast, you will enter a remarkable cider estate and taste local ciders. They are famous for their quality and recognized as AOP products (French label which guarantees Designation of Origin Products). This orchard is 30 hectares big and produces more than 25 different varieties of cider apples. Visitors are usually impressed by the press room and the wood-heated stills. At the end of your visit, you will explore the wine cellar and enjoy this pleasant time to be surrounded by hundreds of different apple smells, old ones and new ones.

Then, you will roam the countryside and follow and 10km tour specially designed to make you visit the most beautiful rural villages of Pays d’Auge in Normandy. There you will enjoy looking at wild and green landscapes, traditional houses, spectacular castles, famous cider orchards and typical horse-riding centers.

Then you will have a local meal in Beuvron-En-Auge, in a traditional restaurant located in the middle of the central square of the town. This is a nice place to taste local cuisine baked in a wood-fire oven.

In the afternoon, you will be free to go shopping (after booking with us, we offer you a travel book which includes the best shops of the area) or to visit the Castle of Crèvecoeur. This castle is among the oldest ones of Normandy. It is a really spectacular one because of its unusual style.

Option: Castle of Crèvecoeur

Explore 10 centuries of History within the Castle of Crèvecoeur. Surrounded by water, the castle is loyal to its original drawing. The manor, the outer courtyard with its chapel and the farm wooden-buildings remain the same and are well-preserved.
